Femunden på langs - winter adventure on skis with WeLeaf
Are you joining us for an incredible winter adventure in Norway? Together we will trek for a week on skis to Femunden, one of the most beautiful national parks in Norway. The route goes over large frozen lakes, through vast pine forests and over magically white mountain peaks. Every night we look for a new sleeping place in the wonderful winter landscape. There we make our camp, cook together and quickly crawl into the sleeping bag to enjoy a long, warm night in the thick down. A Norwegian mountain hut provides a warm change and a wonderful experience of Norwegian cabin culture. A wonderful adventure where we also teach you everything along the way so you can confidently go on your own winter adventure. Do you join us?

How to stay warm in a winter adventure - all active and camp clothing explained
Переглядів 666Рік тому
In this video, we explain how we dress for winter. We show all the clothes we wear while being active but also what we wear at camp. We travelled more than two months on skis along the Lower North Shore in Quebec. Temperatures varied between -30 degrees and 5 degrees. We camped many nights in a tent or under a tarp. We learned so much about staying warm and wearing the right clothing during the...

The mosquitoes were still asleep and the temperatures were perfect for paddling and nights next to the ...

      We made a simple brake system ourselves and used these as brakes (budgetfietsonderdelen.nl/product/zwarte-remmen/) and these ones for the brake lever (www.bol.com/nl/nl/p/alhonga-remgreep-v-brake-links-3-vinger-zilver-zwart/9200000039428047/?bltgh=ifJhsbXfDMRdMvmeQIJCBQ.4_20.25.ProductImage). this was randomly recommended to me by, and what a inspiring story and video! I have cross skates, but I rarely use them...but the video got me motivated! Btw, one question: why did you choose roller skis over cross skates, and what even is the difference between the two, skatingwise? Or are you not that much into roller skiing?

    • @WeLeaf
      @WeLeaf 4 місяці тому

      Thanks a lot! The main reason to choose roller skis was the use of ski poles. Off course, this is possible with cross skates as well, but it feels more logical with roller skis. Also, we had a one-way bearing in the back wheel which would make it easier to go in 'classic style' uphill. During the trip we realised we never used this.

      @@pierremiyamoto4490 Of course we try to respond! It really depends on what the purpose of your adventure is. Do you want to go fast and long? Do you want to go to remote areas? Are you going to capture your adventure with photos and video? We liked to use a trailer because we had a lot of camera equipment and enjoyed staying a couple of days in nature. Then we needed to be able to take enough food. A trailer is definitely heavier and you probably need a brake system like we used.

    Lol when I fall my knee lands on a bed mattress that is my knee pads. That way I'll never sustain a permanent injury to my knee.

    It's great to see new content from you Zoe and Olivier! I was just watching some of your old ones again. You are some amazing humans and you continue to inspire my own adventures and life. I can't wait to see the base camp!

    Great video. Recent subscriber so I am not if you covered it previously or not. I am interested in that wheeled sled you had at the start of the video.

      Hi! This is a Nordiccab multisport trailer (nordiccab.com/). We use the setup without the part for children and use it for skiing, cycling and walking. We have it over 3 years now, used is a lot and there isn't any wear and tear at all :)

      We are big fans of Bergans of Norway and Patagonia :). They both have all layers, in wool or substitute fabrics. Any specific layers you would like to know?

      @@WeLeaf I'm not looking for any specific layer, but thank you already 🙂 I'll check Bergans of Norway which I don't know.
